Kinematics important question for Jee/Neet

Ques 1. Can the direction of velocity of a body change when acceleration is constant?

Ans. Yes, when the body moves vertically upwards after reaching the highest point the body starts falling down that is the direction of velocity rivers to wear as the acceleration is constant.

Ques 2. Is the acceleration of a car greater when acceleration is pushed to the floor or when brake pedal is pushed hard?

Ans. Acceleration of a car is Greater when brake pedal is pushed hard because  car suddenly comes to rest that is the rest of change of velocity car is large.

Ques 3. It is possible to have a constant rate of change of velocity when velocity changes both in magnitude and direction?

Ans. Yes in projectile motion.

Ques 4. If the Acceleration of the particle is constant in magnitude  but not in direction what type of path does the body follow?

Ans. Circular path.

Ques 5. How can the distance travelled by calculated from velocity time graph in a uniform one dimensional motion?

Ans. Distance travelled by an object in a given time is equal to the area over which the velocity time graph enclosure with the time except from the given interval of time finding that area under velocity time graph distance travel will be determined.

Ques 6.What does the Area under acceleration time graph for any interval of time represent when the acceleration of moving body is varying with time?

Ans. The area under acceleration time graph for a given interval of time represents the change in speed of the body during that interval of time.

Ques 7. An object can accelerate while travelling at constant speed but not at constant velocity. Is it true? Explain?

Ans. Yes the direction of an object can change at constant speed. It is so when an object is moving on a circular path with constant speed. Now, it has centripetal acceleration. The constant velocity shows  zero acceleration.

Ques 8.What do the slope of distance time and velocity time graph represent?

Ans . The slope of tangent at a point on distance time graph of a uniformly accelerated motion in One dimension represents the instantaneous velocity at that instant of time.

The slope of velocity time graph of uniformly accelerated motion at a given instant represent the acceleration of the moving body at that given instant.

Ques 9. How is the position time graph of uniformly accelerated motion in One dimension helpful in studying the motion of the object?

Ans. This graph helps to determine the distance travelled by an object during an interval of time and also the velocity of the object at any instant of time.

Ques 10. If a Speedometer is attached to a freely falling body then how much would its speed reading increases with each second of fall?

Ans. Speedometer measure the  instantaneous speed of a moving body. The speed of a falling body increases by g(9.8 m/s) for each second of fall. The speed reading of speedometer will be increased by 9.8 m/s for each second of fall.
